This is only the latest report to mention the bezel-less approach: Last November, Bloomberg reported that Apple was developing two new iPhones -- one with a 4.7-inch screen, and one slightly larger at 5.5 inches -- with "glass that curves downward at the edges." According to Tech Radar's Gareth Beavis and John McCann, "Apple will launch the iPhone 6 in September, along with the iWatch and the first view of iOS 8, to allow it to both bring a new product to market as well as keeping its schedule safe."And speaking of the iWatch, the gaming news website G4Games, citing multiple rumors, wrote today that the smart watch will likely feature a sapphire screen, while the iPhone 6 will not. Apple currently use the sapphire glass technology for the fingerprint scanner on its iPhone 5S. The material is scratch-proof and could make the company's new devices much less fragile than current iterations. The Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn (OTCMKTS:FXCOF) has allegedly built an iPhone with a fully sapphire screen, but word is that the technology is too expensive to mass produce in the size required for iPhones. However, the iWatch is rumored to have have a 2-inch display, making the use of sapphire more cost-effective.
