Alleged iPhone 6 Rear Shell Image Tips Plastic-Coated Design

An image of what is claimed to be the rear shell of the upcoming iPhone 6 model has been leaked online.

The image was originally leaked by Australian blog MacFixIt and published by 9to5mac, which said that the alleged rear shell belongs to the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model, which is one of the two iPhone models expected to launch this fall.

Reports have for a while been indicating thatApple might finally enter the screen size battle with the launch of the iPhone 6, and its rumoured two display size variants - 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch.

While the image does not offer much detail about the iPhone 6's rear, it does show two cut-outs at the top of the purported iPhone - one, for housing the rear camera with flash, and the other, for the Apple logo branding in the middle.

The leaked image, in-line with earlier reports, again shows plastic lines on the rumoured iPhone 6's back panel that are meant to separate the antenna elements.

The purported leaked image of the shell of the 4.7-inch variant is in-line with what has been a widely expected based on earlier leak. The iPhone 6 will take design cues from Apple's current generation iPod touch.

Further, 9to5mac notes that the leaked rear shell image indicates that the rear is covered by a plastic coating.

A recent report claimed that Apple's next iPhone, thought to be called the iPhone 6, would hit theshelves on September 19. The news came from a German website that claimed the local carrier Deutsche Telekom was telling its customer representatives the iPhone 6 has a September 19 launch date, in order to make its customers stick with the wireless provider.

It's worth noting that Apple is yet to announce the official launch date of its much anticipated next iPhone, and usually does not inform carriers in advance, leaving us to take the expected date with a pinch of salt.

A recent report also states that the Cupertino-based company is testing a higher screen resolution of 960x1740 pixels on at least one of the two alleged iPhone models (5.5-inch and 4.7-inch screen variant) due to debut this year. It has been also speculated that the next generation handset will come with a pixel-tripling (3X) mode.

Depressed' goat reunites with donkey best friend, starts eating again

GRASS VALLEY, Calif., May 27 (UPI) --A touching tale of interspecies friendship has come to a happy conclusion.

A goat named Mr. G and a burro donkey named Jellybean were rescued, along with a number of other animals, from a hoarder's home in northern California earlier this year and placed in different animal sanctuaries.

But workers at Animal Place in Grass Valley, Calif., noticed that Mr. G wasn't eating, despite numerous efforts to feed him.

The hunger strike continued for six days, until the sanctuary managed to reunite him with Jellybean.

"Never doubt the depth of emotions other animals possess," Animal Place says in a video about their unique friendship.

Larger screen is expected in iPhone 6

The latest iPhone model is expected to be available in two versions, one with a 4.7-inch display and another with a 5.5-inch display.

Apple has not reacted much to the rise of the “phablet” – the 5- and 6-inch smartphone class, closer in size to a tablet – but that may change with the upcoming release of the iPhone 6. Nigeria says it has found missing girls

LAGOS, Nigeria — A top Nigerian military official said Monday that the government knows the whereabouts of several hundred kidnapped girls but cannot reveal their location and cannot use force to rescue them, according to the Web site of the Ogun state television service.

“The good news for the parents of the girls is that we know where they are, but we cannot tell you,” Air Marshal Alex Badeh, the government’s chief of defense staff, was quoted telling a group of visitors at his office in the capital, Abuja. He reportedly told the group, “Just leave us alone, we are working to get the girls back.”

'F-cup cookies' claim they can make breasts grow

TOKYO, May 23 (UPI) --A new brand of Japanese cookie is not exactly being marketed in a subtle way.

The makers of "F-cup cookies" claim that women who eat them will see an increase in breast size.

The cookies contain Pueraria Mirifica, a plant extract from Thailand, and women are supposed to eat two cookies a day in order to see results. According to the product's website, Pueraria Mirificav is also found in an edible breast enhancer called Bust Up Gum.

The cookies come in two flavors -- Soy Milk or Pralines and Chocolate -- and each one of them is 70 calories.

"Phytoestrogens are in numerous foods and to date there is no research to show that ingestion changes breast size," nutrition expert Ian Marber told the Daily Mail. "Even concentrated doses haven't been shown to do anything, although eating several biscuits can lead to weight gain with all that goes with it."

Apple's iPhone 6: Three Fresh Rumors

The Korea Herald reported this afternoon that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is testing an iPhone 6 prototype that does not have a bezel surrounding its display. If Apple is indeed going bezel-less for the newest iPhone, it could look more like a Samsung (OTCMKTS:SSNLF) Galaxy S4 than an iPhone 5S. This is only the latest report to mention the bezel-less approach: Last November, Bloomberg reported that Apple was developing two new iPhones -- one with a 4.7-inch screen, and one slightly larger at 5.5 inches -- with "glass that curves downward at the edges." Man arrested after driving to police station to report accident while drunk

BATON ROUGE, La., May 12 (UPI) --A Louisiana man was arrested after he allegedly drove to a Baton Rouge police troop's office to file an accident report while he was drunk.

Patrick Ruffner was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license after a trooper at the station smelled alcohol on him and decided to give him a test.

The 31-year-old had called the station to report the accident and troopers told him to come in.

After he performed poorly on field sobriety tests, Ruffner admitted that he had been drinking before the accident, the Times-Picayue reported.

"Please, don't drive to the Troop if you are impaired," police wrote in a press release.

Motorola unveils the £89 Moto E, adds LTE and MicroSD to Moto G

Motorola's Moto G, announced just six months ago in November 2013, quickly proved to be the best-selling smartphone in the company's history, thanks to its combination of a solid specification and an affordable price (£135/€169/$179 SIM-free at launch). Our review of the original Moto G (now available from around £119), concluded that "If you're looking to equip a workforce with a basic Android phone, it's arguably the best choice currently available".

Encouraged by the Moto G's success, Motorola today launched a two-pronged follow-up. US twin baby sisters born holding hands

A pair of US twin sisters who were born holding hands were breathing on their own after being removed from a ventilator, their mother has said.

Jillian and Jenna Thistlethwaite shared an amniotic sac and placenta, a rare condition known as monoamniotic birth.

"They're already best friends," said their mother, Sarah Thistlethwaite.

They were born on Friday in the US state of Ohio, grasping each other's hands when doctors lifted them up for their parents to see after delivery.

Monoamniotic birth occurs in only one in 10,000 pregnancies.

Ms Thistlethwaite, 32, was monitored for weeks at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, as monoamniotic twins are at risk from becoming entangled in each other's umbilical cords.

She told the Akron Beacon Journal newspaper that holding her children was "the best Mother's Day present ever".

"I can't believe they were holding hands," she said. "That's amazing.

2 bodies recovered, 1 unaccounted for after hot air balloon catches fire in Virginia

One day the well of iPhone 6 mockup images will dry up, but today is not that day.Nowhereelse.fr shared another set of photos on Twitter this Thursday, giving us a fresh look at what could be the future of the Apple smartphone. The first set comes courtesy of Inner Exile, a China-based smartphone case retailer. The iPhone 6 mockup appearing in the four photos provided by Inner Exile appears to be a silver iPhone, strikingly similar to the photo that we covered earlier this week. This time around, we get a closer look at the phone from multiple angles, showcasing the reworked button placement, the curved body and the larger display.

How Often Do You Really Need to Shower?

If you don't shower much - but generally keep that information to yourself because of the negative stigma - you're not alone. Following hot on the heels of the no-shampooing hair care revolution, some folks are taking the logical next step: If no or reduced shampooing results in healthier, shinier hair, what about skipping soaping up the body?

Unlike the modified hair-washing schedule, which tends to elicit commentary about shampoos and parabens, conditioners and hair-drying time, skipping showers altogether seems to bring up plenty of other opinions on the subject. Many people who do shower every day think that not doing so is inherently wrong and unhealthy. It's assumed that people who don't shower on the regular are stinky and/or greasy and maybe even visibly dirty - and it certainly can't be good for you.

But considering that it has really only been the last 100 years or so that people have bathed more than once a week (Saturday night baths were the norm for most of American history), daily showering is actually not objectively healthier or better; and in fact, one of the most common reasons that people cut down on showering is actually for skin-health reasons, not laziness. As far as being actually physically dirty, most of us who don't work outside or aren't otherwise involved in daily work where we might get covered in dust, dirt or grease probably don't get any real dirt on anything other than our faces and hands most weeks.

What's behind the links between health and less showering? People with skin issues have long noted that forgoing daily showers can help with eczema, and plenty of others think that it is actually healthier overall, for similar reasons that not washing one's hair can make for shinier, less-frizzy hair. The natural body oils that lubricate and protect the skin get washed away by warm (and especially hot) showers paired with soaps that strip the skin. Without those oils, the skin is more vulnerable to bacteria and viruses, and can also look and feel dry and uncomfortable. Because the body wants to keep the skin in healthy, protected shape, frequent washing can even encourage the body to overproduce oil, leading to a viscious cycle of cleansing and oil production. Many people have found that when they stop washing hair and skin as often, after an adjustment period, the body naturally decreases the amount of oil it produces and less washing is needed.

Of course, how often you shower depends on your level of activity, how healthy you are (if you work out often and eat healthfully, you naturally produce less body odor) and what you do for a living. And, I would add to that list: It depends on the season too.

Confession: I only shower three times a week, and I wash my hair on one of those occasions - but that's just because it's winter. In the summer, I shower every day, but most of those are just rinses in lukewarm water, sans soap so I don't dry out my skin. The drier, colder air of winter saps my skin of moisture, and since I use only natural products, keep active, and don't eat much processed food (and it's cold), I have almost no body odor. You can also shower briefly, as I do, and lather up only the areas that need it on a daily basis (we all know what those are), protecting most of your good skin oils from being washed off, while still enjoying a couple minutes of shower time. You can also wash with oils, which is a popular and growing treatment for dry skin. I do this too and have noticed that since I started washing with organic coconut oil (yes, oils will clean, check out the site dedicated to oil cleansing for an explanation), I feel refreshed, moisturized and smelling great - I add a couple drops of sweet orange or rosemary oil as I love scent.

But there's one area of the body you should never skip washing multiple times a day: your hands. As John Oxford, professor of Virology at Queen Mary's School of Medicine and Dentistry told the Daily Mail, "As long as people wash their hands often enough and pay attention to the area of the body below the belt, showering or bathing every other day would do no harm. Even twice a week would not be a problem if people used a bidet daily as most infectious bugs hang around our lower halves."

Tomb dating back to 1100 B.C. found in Egypt

CAIRO (AP) — Archeologists have found a tomb dating back to around 1100 B.C. south of Cairo, Egypt's Antiquities Ministry said Thursday.

Antiquities Minister Mohamed Ibrahim said that the tomb belongs to a guard of the army archives and royal messenger to foreign countries. Ibrahim said the Cairo University Faculty of Archaeology's discovery at Saqqara adds "a chapter to our knowledge about the history of Saqqara."

Ola el-Egeizy of Cairo University said the tomb contains "very nice inscriptions" of the funerary procession and the afterlife of the deceased.

UK deploys destroyer to track large Russian naval task force

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain has deployed a destroyer to track an unusually large Russian naval task force transiting the English Channel, it said on Thursday and also noted a "resurgence" in Russian air activity close to its airspace.

The Ministry of Defense said the decision to dispatch HMS Dragon, one of Britain's newest and most sophisticated ships, to track the Russian naval force was routine and that the Russians had notified it of their transit plans in advance.

A man in Jiaxing, China, was supposedly so depressed by his lacking love life that in a moment of desperation, he cut off his penis, the Mirror reported.

Shortly after his amateur amputation, 26-year-old Yang Hu had second thoughts and quickly got to a hospital in hopes of getting his sex organ reattached.
